Police in Mzuzu Recover Stolen Items, Arrest Suspect in Break-In at a Bottle Store

Police in Mzuzu have arrested Emmanuel Mhone 41, on suspicion of breaking into a building and Committing a felony therein which occurred at Shalawambe Bottle Store in Chibavi location within Mzuzu City.

On April 26, 2024 Mzuzu police received a report from Mr John Chunga 45, that unknown criminals broke into his Bottle Store and stole a Lenovo laptop computer valued at MK150, 000 and a Dixon Amplifier valued MK650, 000. Total value of stolen items being MK800,000.00.

Detectives from Mzuzu police visited the scene and later initiated an intelligence collection which led to the arrest of Mhone.

Meanwhile all the stolen items have been recovered and the suspect is in police custody for further police investigations.

He will appear before court soon to answer relevant charges.

Mhone hails from Bakaya village Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe in Rumphi district.
