The Malawi Police Service (MPS) in Mzuzu have launched a manhunt for a woman in her 20s suspected of dumping a months old child in the city.

The woman identified as Glory Nyirenda is said to have left the child with two women she met in the evergreen city of Mzuzu.

The woman who is suspected to be a commercial sex worker is said to have tricked her fellows by telling them that they should help her in looking after the child since she wanted to answer a call of nature.

The two women reported the matter to police after seeing that it was taking long for a woman to return.
