Police Arrest Two Individuals for Illegal Possession of Live Pangolins in Dedza

In Dedza Police have arrested Vincent Kadoso and Yohane Chekagu for allegedly possessing two live pangolins.

Dedza police publicist Beatrice Jefita said the two were keeping the pangolins which they were offering for sale.

In order to verify if the information was true, police detectives organized a team which strategically managed to bring the suspects closer to Kapesi village where the suspects produced a laptop bag in which they concealed the pangolins and later the detectives managed to arrest them.

Meanwhile, the specimens have been handed over to the Department of Wildlife and Parks for safe keeping.

Jefita said the two will appear in court soon to answer charges levelled against them.

Vincent Kadoso, 24, hails from Katsekaminga village in the area of Traditional Authority Kamenyagwaza while Yohane Chekagu, 43, is from Makakula village in the area of Traditional Authority Kachere in the same district.
