Police in Salima have arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly defiling his seven year-old step-daughter and his wife for aiding the act at Chaseta village in the area of Traditional Authority Kambwiri in the district.

The two are Davie Samson from Matumula village in Traditional Authority Pemba and Esinta Jackson 38, from Chaseta village in Traditional Authority Kambwiri in Salima.

District Police spokesperson Jacob Khembo said the incident happened on the night of August 24 this year where the suspect defiled the girl right in their house in the presence of the wife.

He said the following morning, the girl reported the matter to her uncle who later reported to police.

Khembo added that the victim was referred to Salima district hospital where the results showed that the little girl was indeed defiled hence the arrests.
