Rumphi police station spokesperson Sergeant Tupeliwe Kabwilo has confirmed the arrests of 59 people suspected to have entered the country illegally.

Kabwilo said the 59, Ethiopian and Bangladesh nationals, were intercepted at Mzokoto.

They were in a three-tonner track whose driver is on the run, said the police.

They will appear before court soon.
