Police Arrest 11 People In Dowa Including 2 Congolese Women For Committing Various Offences

11 people have been arrested in Dowa including two Congolese women for being involved in different crimes.

According to Dowa Police Spokesperson, Alice Sitima, the police detectives arrested the suspects on Thursday during a special operation done at Chezi, Imfayatonse, Dzaleka and Dowa Turn-off trading centers.

She said the two Congolese women, aged 22 and 20, were found with five bags of loose cannabis and 1,270 twists of the said drug.

The officers also netted nine others for selling liquor and gas(fuel), buying farm produce and operating bar and pesticides businesses, all without licenses.

All suspects will appear before court soon.
