The funeral ceremony of hip hop artist Martse real name Martin Nkhata is underway at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

The body of Marste has just arrived at the stadium from his parent’s residence in likuni where the body spent the night after it’s arrival from Blantyre yesterday.

Before the arrival of Martse’s remains a few artists including Eli Njuchi and The Great Angels took to the stage performing their songs Malo a zii and Msalolere respectively.

Martse died on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) where he was being treated for burn wounds.

He was 28 until his death.

Martse will be laid to rest today at Area 18 cemetery later in the day.
