Phalombe District Launches Tree Planting Season with Call to Protect Against Natural Disasters

Senior Chief Kaduya of Phalombe has called on the district’s residents to plant more trees on river banks as a means of protecting against natural disasters.

The chief made this statement during the launch of the tree planting season at Naminjiwa Primary School.

She highlighted that the district has been experiencing the negative effects of natural disasters, due to the cutting down of trees on river banks, and emphasized the importance of reafforestation.

At the launch, 300 trees were planted towards the goal of over one million targeted trees.
