Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda says Phalombe District Hospital will become operational next month, July.
She was speaking at a press conference in Lilongwe on Wednesday.
She disclosed that currently, her ministry was deploying members of staff.
“Currently, we are procuring non-medical essentials such as furniture,” she said.
On Tonse Alliance being occupied with developmental projects started by the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Kandodo Chiponda argued that the projects, such as Phalombe Hospital were started out of the need.
“We will finish all the projects in the Ministry of Health. We cannot start new projects while others are stalling. It’s not about who started these projects, it’s about the need for these projects,” she said.
