“People need to collect certificates from NWRA before drilling boreholes” Kasambala

The National Water Resources Authority (NWRA) has warned companies and officials to desist from drilling boreholes anyhow without proper documents.

The branch spokesperson, Masozi Kasambala said this on 13 November 2023 while meeting with officials of Mulanje local government council.

Kasambala, who is also the head of public education at the department, asked the council in the district to make sure that boreholes drillers have proper documents before embarking on the exercise.

He then asked all people especially companies who are into the drilling of borehole to obtain certificates before November 24, 2023.

“It is forbidden by the laws in this country, to build or do agricultural work in the river or sea areas without documents from the agency.” Kasambala said.
