People in Nkhotakota have been urged to lead in promoting transparency and accountability in performance of multi-million kwacha projects under the District Development Fund (DDF) which begun yesterday.
District Council Chairperson, Gaziel Chimzere, said the project will help in many ways like having high quality infrastructure and meeting project deadline.
About MK100 million will be used in different ways in the district including installation of electricity and improvement of drainage system at Chigumula Community Ground, construction of dumping sites , one for Nkhotakota Boma and another at Dwangwa, construction of market shelters at Lozi and Dwambazi and gravelling of Bango – Mapala road in Nkhotakota South constituency.
Managing Director of Matowe Construction Company Towera Makwale vowed that she will make sure that the project of gravelling Bango-Mapala road is done well and in time.
