Minister Community Development and Social Welfare Patricia Kaliati has taken her 55th birthday celebration in church as she is attending the National Day of Prayers at Bingu International Convention Center (BICC) in the Capital Lilongwe.
Akweni as she is well known was born on December 21, 1967.
The professional teacher joined politics in 1999 when she was elected Member of Parliament for Mulanje West Constituency on a United Democratic Front (UDF) ticket.
She has worked with various political parties in the country including Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
In 2018, she was elected as Secretary General for United Transformation Movement (UTM) and she still hold the position till now.
In her political carrier, Kaliati has held a number of ministerial positions and has worked with various governments.
