Pathologist Dzamalala Requires Two Months for DNA Tests in Murder Case of Thyolo Schoolgirl

In a tragic incident that shook the nation, a 12-year-old girl was found raped and strangled in Thyolo earlier this year. The victim, a standard 8 student at Ntambanyama primary school, went missing after school and her body was found along the river bank. The incident sparked outrage and calls for justice from across the country.

Now, there is hope that justice may soon be served as Dr. Charles Dzamalala, a pathologist involved in the case, has announced that he needs two months to release the matching results of DNA tests for the girl and her five suspected assailants.

The samples were submitted to a laboratory in South Africa last month and Dr. Dzamalala has assured that the results will be available in two months’ time.

Thyolo Police deputy spokesperson, Rabecca Kashoti, has stated that they will wait for the results before commencing the prosecution of the five suspects.
