FCB Nyasa Bullets coach Kallisto Pasuwa says he is not losing sleep over his team’s continued struggles in the TNM Super League.

The People’s Team have dropped eight points in six matches, having won twice and drawn four games. They are sixth on the table with 10 points.

Pasuwa: League is won after 30 games

Bullets, who had the luxury of a clean sweep last season, get another stern test this afternoon when they host a revitalized Mzuzu City Hammers this afternoon at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

In an interview, the former Zimbabwe National Football Team and Dynamos FC coach, who has guided Bullets to five successive league titles, said there is no reason to press the panic button yet as the season is still in the early stages.

He said: “Regarding our performance this far, we need to push up to be at par with others.

“However, we should not look much at what others are doing because a league is only won after playing 30 games.”

On this afternoon’s match, the Zimbabwean tactician said: “We need to be positive in our approach and not underrate Hammers.

“There is no small team, Mzuzu City Hammers are playing good football and we need to treat them with respect.”

Last week, Bullets narrowly escaped defeat when they equalised late to hold Mafco FC 1-1 in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota while Hammers are coming from a 1-0 win over Kamuzu Barracks (KB).

Hammers go into this match knowing that a win will see them tie on 16 points with leaders Silver Strikers, albeit temporarily, as the Central Bankers will be in action tomorrow against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

Nevertheless, Hammers will need to win by a wide goal margin as they trail Silver by a nine-goal difference.

In an interview yesterday, Hammers coach Elias Chirambo said they are not in a cold sweat with the prospect of facing the champions at their backyard.

He said: “We have no reason to feel inferior, the Hammers of this season is different from the past and we have prepared for it just like any other match.

“Our motivation is that a win could see us go joint top and that’s what we want. The other thing is that we are second  on the log table and we are taking on a team that is four steps below us.”

Hammers are second on the table with 13 points following four wins, a draw and one loss.

The last time the two teams met was in the semi-finals of the Castel Challenge Cup last December when Bullets triumphed 4-0.

In the Super League, Bullets won the first round match 4-1 before being held to a one-all draw in the second round.

In other matches, it will be a battle of rookies when Creck Sporting Club host Fomo FC at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.

The two teams are tied on seven points, but Creck Sporting have a better goal difference on 11th position while Fomo are 12th.

KB face fellow soldiers Moyale Barracks at Aubrey Dimba Stadium in Kapiri, Mchinji.

KB are fourth with 11 points from six matches while Moyale are three steps behind with nine points.
