A 47-year-old Zion Pastor identified as Steven Malewezi has been arrested in Kasungu for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old girl.

Kasungu Police Spokesperson, Joseph Kachikho has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Kachikho, the victim visited the church for prayers at Msakasilo Village and the suspect allegedly deceived the victim to have sex with her to cleanse demons.

Police say it later became a tendency and the two got married and settled at Mafumphilizi trading centre.

Malewezi was arrested on June 13, 2023 after the victim’s uncle reported to Chatoloma police.

Malewezi comes from Msakasilo Village in Traditional Authority Mnyanja in Kasungu district.
