Parliament has been suspended for some minutes after a ‘strange smell’ has been felt with some people claiming there was a sight of smoke inside the main chamber.

Leader of the House, Richard Chimwendo Banda, asked for the suspension following the detection of the ‘strange smell’.

In the morning, the deliberations were also interrupted several times due to power outages.
