The Public Appointments Committee of Parliament (PAC) has said it is still waiting for official communication from the Office of the President and Cabinet on the appointment of Masauko Chamkakala as the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

PAC Chairperson Joyce Chitsulo that once they are officially communicated to as a committe, they will set a date for his confirmation hearing.

Meanwhile, Chitsulo said the committee is scheduled to conduct it’s meetings for two weeks from today and she is optimistic that within that period the OPC will send them the communication.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera appointed Chimkakala last week after firing Steven Kayuni who is embroiled in the arrest of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.
