The Public Appointments Committee (Pac) of Parliament has today prematurely suspended its business of confirming commissioners for the Civil Service Commission and appointee ambassador to Ethiopia.

Reports indicate that the committee did not accept some of the appointed commissioners over competence reasons.

The development forced government Members of Parliament to seek an early adjournment up until tomorrow with a possibility of moving a motion for the committee to revisit its decision.

Pac Chairperson Joyce Chitsulo confirmed the adjournment of the proceedings but could not be drawn to comment on what transpired in the meeting.
