Former Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Commander General Vincent Nundwe has handed over a sword of command to the newly appointed Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Commander, General Paul Valentino Phiri.

The handover ceremony took place at Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe.

President Dr.Lazarus Chakwera appointed Phiri as the new Commander of the MDF last month replacing Nundwe whose term of office came to an end.

General Nundwe, now retired, has served as MDF commander twice.
