Police in Nsanje said the remaining bodies that went missing after a canoe accident on the Shire River on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, are still not found.

The district’s Police Spokesperson, Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma said the searching exercise has been canceled since the traced bodies are not being found.

11 people survived the accident and five went missing, of these only one body of a woman, police identified as Fina Yohane Chimombo, was found.

They were sailing back from their crop fields on the Mozambican side before their canoe capsized.
