NONM Calls For Dialogue In Wake Of Violent Incidents That Took At Area 25 Health Centre In Lilongwe

The National Organization of Nurses and Midwives (NONM) is calling for dialogue between the authorities at Capital hill and communities around Area 25 health centre in Lilongwe.

The call follows violent incidences that occurred earlier this week at the health centre over disagreements on the death of a Cholera patient.

Communities of Mgona location staged violent riots arguing the patient did not die of Cholera and some health workers were injured.

The incident also led to massive destruction of structures and medical equipment at the health facility, which serves thousands of people.

This happened days after the closure of Nandumbo health centre in Balaka over similar issues.

NONM President Shouts Simeza has revealed that workers at Area 25 health centre are not safe.
