Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have secured sponsorship from Ekhaya Farms Foods Limited which is owned by their president and board chairperson Thomson Mpinganjira.

While confirming the deal in an interview on Thursday, one of the Nomads’  directors Clement Stambuli  kept a tight lid on the package.

He said: “We have indeed successfully negotiated for sponsorship with Ekhaya Farms Foods Limited, who will be our co-sponsors with effect from the forthcoming 2023 season.

“More details about the deal will be disclosed during our season launch set for next Thursday in Blantyre where the renewal of the sponsorship from Mukuru will also be officially announced.

“Therefore, at this point, I would not want to pre-empt  what we have planned to unveil during the launch.”

Stambuli, who is also the club’s spokesperson, said the Lali Lubani Road outfit has already started benefiting from the deal.

He said the Nomads shirt sleeves will have Ekhaya Farms Foods Limited logo.

“One of our team buses has already been branded with Ekhaya logo so will our clubhouse,” said Stambuli.

In a separate interview, Mpinganjir also confirmed the deal.

“Ekhaya Farms Foods will be co-nponsoring Wanderers with Mukuru,” said the business mogul and philanthropist who has reportedly pumped in  over K400 million since he was appointed the club’s president in 2021.

“The deal will be announced at the launch of the 2023 seasson. The money that I have been putting in Wanderers is Ekhaya sponsorship.”

Ekhaya Farm Foods has two store tiers, express and food mart, both located in Blantyre, but they plan to have 10 mega stores within the next 18 months.

Apart from selling fresh vegetables, fruits and dairy production, the store also has a butchery supplied by Ekhaya Farms, a bakery and a restaurant that includes a coffee and smoothies bar.
