New Mozambican High Commissioner aims for continued bilateral relations

New Mozambican High Commissioner to Malawi, Elias Jaime Zimba has expressed optimism for the continued bilateral relations between his country and Malawi.

He made the remarks on Thursday in Lilongwe at Kamuzu Palace after presenting his letters of credence to President, Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
Zimba said the two countries have for long enjoyed good relationships that have benefited the people of the two countries in many aspects, aims at making sure this cordial relationship continues to flourish.

“I am very glad to start this incredible journey that aims at further developing our bilateral relationship. Our two countries take pride in having a rich history of cooperation of the highest order.

“We want to see if we can build on this and take our relationship to another high. We would like to see if we can have Malawi as one of our best allies in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the rest of the region,” he said.

Zimba extended sympathy from his President, Felipe Nyusi to President, Chakwera and the rest of Malawians for the disaster that facing Malawi due to Cyclone Ana.

“On behalf of my President and the people of Mozambique, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the people of Malawi for the tragedy that has taken place due to Cyclone Ana.
