NCHE asks private and public universities to fast track minimum education standards

The National Council for Higher Education(NCHE) has issued a plea to both private and public universities to adhere to the minimum education standards in order to foster high-quality education among students
.
The appeal comes in response to the challenges faced by numerous private higher education institutions struggling to meet the prescribed minimum education standards established by the council.

Ambumulire Phiri, Chief Executive Officer of the Council stated that the council is conducting random inspections at universities to verify compliance with quality standards set by the council.

Phiri said these standards encompass areas such as infrastructure, curriculum and teaching personnel.
