Management of rising entertainment content creator, Jetu, and producers of Radio 2FM’s popular urban music programme Made On Monday have distanced themselves from an alleged leaked communication between them.
On Tuesday, social media was awash with the purported email communication allegedly addressed to Jetu’s nephew Blessings ‘Emu Dee’ Kazembe. The email claimed the producers of Made On Monday refused to feature Jetu’s latest song Chikwaza on their programme.
Says he did not send the email: Nathu
“You sent us a song. The song is Chikwaza by Jetu to be on the radio show. We have listened to the song. This song is not good enough to be on the radio show. We cannot play this ndipo kayeseni kwina [try elsewhere],” reads the email in part.
The alleged communication caused a stir on social media, a development which prompted producer of the show Joy Nathu to take to his Facebook page to distance himself from the e-mail.
Rising star: Jetu
He wrote: “Let us all give Jetu the views. It is not easy and it requires a lot of skill for someone to be doing what she is doing at her age. I have watched her video 16 times just today. I am remaining with four times so I can reach 20 views just today.”
When The Nation sought his further comments on the matter, Nathu said what he communicated in his Facebook post should be enough.
But in a separate interview, Emu Dee refuted claims that his team got an email from Made on Monday. He said it was unfortunate that some people are using Jetu’s brand to achieve their own goals.
“I won’t say much because I don’t know the people who did this and I don’t understand their intentions. I don’t even have Joy’s number and besides, our working relationship has always been cordial. It is bad that other people want to bring bad blood between us,” he said.
Emu Dee said he is saddened that as a brand they are being attacked by people who should have been in the forefront supporting them. He also cited the numerous fake Facebook accounts opened using the name Jetu as another challenge for their brand.
