Nankhumwa, Jeffrey wa Jeffrey blast Mutharika, threatens for a lawsuit

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa and the Party’s Secretary General Grizelder Jeffrey have threatened to drag former President Peter Mutharika to court for sidelining them.

The development follows a move by not to invite the two at the party’s indaba held on Tuesday at PAGE house in the eastern district of Mangochi.

Speaking in an interview with the press Jeffrey wa Jeffrey while threatening for a lawsuit said the two will not leave the party.

“This only proves that me and Nankhumwa are not the problem in DPP. There is a court order reinstating us on our positions, but look, they are there meeting excluding us,” said Jefrey wa Jeffrey.

Mutharika said what was held at PAGE house this Tuesday in Mangochi, was not a central executive committee meeting, but, a technical working group for an ongoing functional review of the party’s restructuring drive.

Mutharika through his spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba further said that the party’s secretary general, Grizelder Jeffrey and Vice president for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa should not worry, as the meeting did not need their presence.

DPP is currently rocked in leadership crisis with some top officials demanding for the immediate resignation of Peter Mutharika.
