President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera on behalf of the people of Malawi have condoled with the people of Namibia on the passing of President Hage Geingob.

“On behalf of the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi, Madam Monica Chakwera, the people of Malawi, and indeed on my own behalf, | would like to send our deepest condolences to Madam Monica Geingos, the First Lady of the Republic of Namibia, the bereaved family, and all the people of Namibia on the passing of my dear brother and colleague, President Hage Geingob of the Republic of Namibia,” reads the statement in part.

Dr Chakwera said late President Geingob was dedicated to duty as displayed by His leadership.

“His dedication to Namibia and Africa was admirable throughout the continent. It is our hope and prayer that all Namibians will use this challenging time to reflect on their personal and collective commitment to the development of Namibia and the liberation of the African people as the late President purposed to do throughout his life. May his legacy endure,” said Dr Chakwera adding, “Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.”

Geingob died at a hospital in Windhoek at the age of 82.
