The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has all is well between the party’s secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey and former President Peter Mutharika.

The development follows Jeffrey wa Jeffrey’s shunning of the emergency Central Executive meeting summoned by the party leader where all top officials including DPP Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa attended the meeting.

Speaking in an interview with the press Mutharika’s spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba said Jeffrey wa Jeffrey sent an apology.

“The Central Executive Committee has concluded a meeting which started at 10am and ended 5.45pm. The Secretary General Madam Grezelder Jeffrey did not attend the meeting as she sent a valid apology to the collective leadership and also gave her blessing for the meeting to take place,” said Namalomba.

The opposition DPP is currently going through restructuring process ahead of its elective conference scheduled for June this year.
