Mzuzu City Council embarks on Business Licence Compliance Campaign

Mzuzu City Council has embarked on a Business Licence Compliance Campaign.

Through the campaign, the Council is closing down all businesses that do not have valid operating licence. This is in line with relevant laws and city by-laws.

On record, only 20 percent of businesses operating in Mzuzu City have valid business licences. This has a negative bearing on the quality of services provided by Mzuzu City Council.

On the first day of the activity, the Council has closed down over 100 shops which did not have a valid business permit.

The Council will continue with the activity until there is total compliance.
