Communities in Mzimba South have commended Save the Children for implementing an inclusive education project in the district.
Speaking on Tuesday during a tour of schools in Traditional Authority Kampingo Sibande, Steria Kaposa said her child with disability now is in school.
“My 12-year-old child is in Standard Four, thanks to the inclusive project implemented by Save the Children,” she said.

Another parent Fosinala Shaba said she previously felt discouraged to send her nine-year-old child with disability to school.
“But now my child is performing well in school,” she said.
Mbwiriwiza Primary School head teacher William Mlowoka said they have pupils with disability although there are no special needs teachers.
“The school has 91 learners with different disabilities, but we do not have teaching materials. Save the Children and its partners are training teachers on inclusive education and encouraging us to use locally available resources,” he said.
Kaphuta Zone primary education adviser Gloria Mvula said Mzimba South has embraced inclusive education.
“The district has 626 special needs learners in both primary and secondary schools against 34 special needs teachers,” she said.
