Mutharika’s step son Tadikila case back in court, two suspects added to the case

Two more accused persons have been added to the case in which six others, including former first lady’s son Tadikila Mafubza are being charged with manslaughter and aggravated human trafficking following discovery of a mass grave in Mtangatanga forest in Mzimba.

The new accused are: Aubrey Dukes, 38, from T/A Mbwatalika,Lilongwe and Arnold Mwakiyero Chikwekwete, 26, from T/A Kilipula in Karonga.

High court Judge Gladys Gondwe earlier this morning adjourned the court for 30 minutes to allow one of two additional accused (Dukes) time to seek legal representation.

Lead prosecutor in the matter, Dzikondianthu Malunda, told the court that the arrest of the two over the weekend has necessitated change in the arrangement of names on the charge sheet where Dukes is 1st accused and Chikwekwete 2nd accused.

The accused will take fresh plea following changes to the earlier chargesheet.
