Former President Peter Mutharika on Thursday held an audience with former Democratic Progressive party (DPP) governor for the North Reverend Christopher Mzomera Ngwira.

The meeting took place at PAGE house in the eastern district of Mangochi.

According to information, Mutharika invited Mzomera Ngwira to discuss a number of issues and one of it being the squabbles rocking the party.

Mzomera Ngwira was slapped with a four years jail sentence after embezzling CDF funds when serving as Member of Parliament for Mzimba Hora.

He was acquitted by the Supreme Court in Mzuzu last month.
