Death has been announced of Annie Jere Chalera, a lecturer at Malawi University of Business and Applied Science (MUBAS) formerly known as Polytechnic in the commercial capital Blantyre.

This has been confirmed in a statement released by the institution made available to this publication.

According to the statement, Chalera was involved in a road accident along the Midima road near Nguludi turn-off.

She was then taken to Nguludi Health Centre for treatment but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Annie Jere Chalera was a lecturer in the Mining Engineering Department.

Meanwhile, funeral details are still sketchy.
