Veteran politician Ken Msonda has back a move by Brown Mpinganjira to join Malawi Congress Party (MCP) after dumping the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Mpinganjira together with Friday Jumbe, former Minister of Finance were welcomed in MCP fold earlier this week in Blantyre.

The move by the two attracted mixed reactions among Malawians and some accused the two being sale out politicians.

But speaking in an interview with the press, Msonda backed Mpinganjira.

“Brown Mpinganjira is just exercising his freedom of association as per our constitution and we should not blame him for that,” said Msonda.

Meanwhile, Mpinganjira has promised to help President Chakwera to retain his Presidency come 2025.
