The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has described the duty-free week as a success.

The duty-free week was rolled out on Sunday 23 January and ended Saturday 29th January 2022.

The week allowed business operators to import goods of not more that 2.4 Million Kwacha cleared at the boarders without paying custom duty.

Wilma Chalulu and Communications Manager for MRA said that a lot took advantage of the week to import cars.

Chalulu however said she will give a full report of the week after an analysis which MRA is undertaking.
