Dedza South Member of Parliament Ishmael Onani has called on former President Peter Mutharika to make it to the Heads of State meeting that has been called for by President Lazarus Chakwera.

According to Onani, if indeed the DPP wants no politicization of Cyclone Freddy, he should attend the meeting which seeks to find solutions to the current problem.

But Mangochi South West MP Shadric Namalomba has said mentioning a person who is not in the House is against standing orders and the statement should be taken out of the Hansard.

Speaker Catherine Gotani Hara sustained the Namalomba’s point of order, asking Onani to withdraw his statement.

In his withdrawal statement Onani said, “I withdraw the word APM and replace it with former heads of State.”
