Montfort Bwanali, a Democratic Progress Party (DPP) councillor from Chilimbondo ward, has been elected as the new chairperson for Neno district council. Joseph Chiphaliwali from Ligowe ward is now the vice chairperson. Both were elected without any opposition.

In his acceptance speech, Bwanali said his main goal is to bring together councilors and members of parliament to promote development.

Vice chairperson Joseph Chiphaliwali promised to use council funds wisely and ensure equal distribution of development.

Neno District Commissioner Hudson Kuphanga praised the peaceful elections.
