Minister of Homeland Security urges supporters to provide PPEs to police and prison services during pandemic

The Minister of Homeland Security, Jean Sendeza, has called on supporters to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Malawi Police Service and Malawi Prison Service during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and Cholera outbreak.

Sendeza made the statement during a ceremony in Lilongwe where AKI Investment supplied PPEs to the two departments.

She acknowledged the lack of adequate protective equipment and promised that the government is working to address the issue.

He also urged officers to use the given materials properly and warned that action will be taken against anyone found to have misused the equipment.

The Director of Operations for AKI Investment Limited, Thilan Karunathilake, stated that the company decided to reach out to the police and prison services to protect them from harm.
