Minister encourages partnerships in business

Minister of Local Government Blessings Chinsinga has underscored the importance of partnerships in business to ensure sustainable success and positive contribution to national development.

He was speaking on Saturday in Zomba when the Institute of Public Opinion and Research (Ipor) held its annual end-of-year party to celebrate milestones and success recorded by the management and team in the year.

Chinsinga: Partnerships
are important

Chinsinga said: “Ipor is a Zomba-based research company which started from humble beginnings and it has grown this far due to partnerships and support from various stakeholders, therefore, the importance of partnerships is very key for the success of any organisation.

“I understand that the main reason for the end of the year party was to appreciate the support that stakeholders and partners are rendering to the organisation, this should be commended.”

He said organising the end of the year party did not mean that the organisation has more money, but a demonstration of shared success which other organisations should emulate.

Chinsinga said Ipor, for instance, provides temporary employment to about 1 000 graduates annually, gaining requisite experience as they transit to permanent employment.

In his remarks, Ipor director of research and operations Boniface Dulani said as Ipor celebrates the New Year 2023, they would like to appeal for the continued support from all the stakeholders so that they continue contributing towards developing the country.

He said: “The work that we do at Ipor has a great deal of policy influence on the political and social front by way of helping the country to get its foothold in the realization of the Malawi 2063 vision.

“We are encouraged by the fact that Ipor is now penetrating the local market, therefore, we invite stakeholders to reach us and visit our website, for more information on how we can work together.”

The Zomba-based firm, which was founded in 2014, works in conducting and presenting high quality and trusted data to its clients in opinion surveys, marketing research, advisory and consulting services.
