Minister approves opening of Likoma community technical college

Minister of Labor Vera Kamtukule has approved the opening of Likoma Community Technical College which is scheduled to open next year in January.

Kamtukule said the opening of the college expresses satisfaction that all challenges will be cleared.

According to Regional manager for Technical Entrepreneur Vocational and Education Training Authority (TEVETA) in the northern region, Joseph Chikopa, they are working to make sure that the college officially opens January, 2023.

Likoma district council spokesperson, Ireen Mseteka said recruitment processes have begun in anticipation of the roll out.

The opening was delayed due to land wrangles, water and electricity challenges at the new college facility.
