The Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has suspended investigations on what led to the arrest of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma in December last year.
Director of Civil and Political Rights for MHRC Peter Chisi has confirmed the development adding that they have pended the investigation following the expiry of contracts for it’s commissioners in March this year.
He added that being a high profile case, they will wait for a fully instituted commission to proceed with the investigations.
Meanwhile, governance commentator George Phiri, has described the suspension as unfortunate in the handling of high profile cases in the country.
