MCP should start packing – DPP

Opposition mighty Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has told governing Malawi Congress Party (MCP) to start packing saying it will not win the 2025 presidential elections.

DPP’s National Director of Youth Dyton Mussa and Regional Governor for the North Christopher Mzomera Ngwira made the remarks during a political rally held in Mzuzu on Saturday.

Mussa argues that the current government has failed on among others, the one million jobs, eating three times a day, and reducing price for passports to K14 000.

“Prices of goods keep on rising. This is the more reason we need to have them packing,” said Mussa

He added that he DPP never lost the election but alleges that the party was removed forcefully.

While Ngwira said President Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP administration has failed to lead the country as he lied to Malawians on dealing with issues of food and job insecurities.

Concurring with Mussa and Ngwira, DPP’s Director of women in the North Constance Mwanyongo said country’s woes are due to “the decision to snatch the government from DPP.”

Taking to the podium DPP’s Treasurer General Jappie Mhango said the party has to be strong from the grassroots to make it in 2025.
