New District Commissioner for Mchinji, Fred Movete, has called for integrity, transparency and accountability from civil servants to ensure good service delivery in the district.

Movete made the call on Tuesday when he held a meeting with heads of government sectors.

“As head of departments, you must ensure that all government sectors’ works are transparent, try as much as possible to share information, be it resources you are using and all programmes you are implementing.

“This will ensure that Mchinji citizens are aware about programmes the district is implementing,” he explained.

The district commissioner further urged heads of department to support elected members of the council such as Members of Parliament and councillors to ensure that they work effectively.

Movete has replaced Peter Jimusole who is now district commissioner for Nkhata Bay.
