Silver Strikers left-back Tatenda M’balaka beat Chikondi Kamanga and Nickson Mwase to win Mika Greenland Player of the Month for September.
During a ceremony held on Friday in Lilongwe, he was awarded a 20×30 plot of land worth K1 million by property developers Mika Greenland, official sponsors for Silver Strikers Football Club Player of the Month Award.
M’balaka also got K100 000 for winning the accolade.

The left back was modest after receiving the award, saying football is a team sport and everyone contributes.
“Credit should go to my team mates. I am just lucky that I have been voted for but it has been a collective effort from all my teammates. This award will not only motivate me but also help the team more so that we win games,” said M’balaka.

Mika Greenland representative Aubrey Chisale said the awards are meant to encourage the players to work hard.
“We urge all players to work hard and contribute to the success of the team like they have done in recent games so that they also be in line for the awards,” he said
