Reports reaching Face of Malawi indicate that Mangochi District Council has suspended 20 Primary school teachers for allegedly absconding their duties.

District Commissioner for Mangochi Raphael Piringu confirmed the development saying eight of the suspended teachers will be called for disciplinary hearing this week.

He said some of the teachers have not been attending to their duties for about six months.
