Mangochi Court commits murder case to High Court

Mangochi First Grade Magistrate Court on Friday committed a murder case involving three men to the high court.

Before sending the case to the High Court First Grade Magistrate Roy Kakutu said his court does not have powers to try murder cases, hence committing it to the high court.

While appearing in court on the same day (Friday) for plea, the three pleaded not guilty to the murder charge leveled against them.

The three; Abubakar Aimu, 43, Ibrahim M’bwana, 37 and Idrissa Suza, 28, are answering charges of causing death of Bason Ali, 37.

The court learnt through Namwera Police Prosecutor Blessings Madikhula that on the night of 6 February this year, the three are suspected to have murdered Bason Ali, who was allegedly having an affair with Abubakar Aimu’s wife at Oleche Village in the district.
