A man in Zambia has k!lled himself after finding out that his girlfriend had married another man, his father has said.

David Simfukwe, 25, was found dead on Tuesday afternoon in the Madwa area of Nakonde district, where he had hanged himself from a tree.

His father, Frank Simfukwe, told CHETE FM News that his son had been planning to marry the girl and had made all the necessary arrangements.

He said David was devastated when he learned that she had recently wed someone else.

Police have confirmed the incident and said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Nakonde Urban Clinic mortuary.
