A 38-year-old man in Mchinji died after committing suicide over family disputes.

The deceased, Tsoka Daka, reportedly picked a quarrel with his wife accusing her of having an affair.

Father to the deceased, Saulos Nkhoma, said at first Daka wanted to stab his wife with a knife, but she escaped and raged with anger, he resorted to taking his own life.

Police and hospital authorities in Mchinji district have confirmed the incident.

Four suicide cases have been recorded in the district in the last three weeks.
