Man stabbed to death during a fight in Thyolo

Police in Thyolo have arrested Zaire Mpapala, 31, for allegedly killing Meston Muwana, 25, who tried to separate a disagreement.

The station’s Criminal Investigation Officer, Assistant Superintendent, Henry Sifa has confirmed of the development in an interview with the pres.

According to Sifa, over the weekend, the suspect was heavily assaulting a girlfriend at a drinking joint and Muwana tried to pacify them, but instead the suspect stabbed him with a bottle on the neck causing a deep cut.

Sifa said Muwana who hails from Nchiramwera village, Traditional Authority Nchiramwera, was rushed to Thyolo District Hospital before being referred to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead due severe loss of blood.

Meanwhile, police have urged people in the district to desist from taking the law into their own hands, bemoaning growing homicide cases in the district this year.
