Man Sentenced to Two Years for Stealing 33 Bags of Maize in Ntchisi

The Ntchisi First Grade Magistrate Court has today sentenced a 33 -year-old Paul John to two years imprisonment for stealing 33 bags of maize valued at K1 million at Champhoyo Primary School in the district.

According to the state prosecutor Sergeant Virginia Kasiya the incident occurred in September this year.

John pleaded guilty to the charge contrary to section 311 (1) of the penal code.

First Grade Magistrate Dorothy Kaluwa said such cases are rampant in the district hence the sentence.
